Your Instructor

Matilda Margo began her belly dance journey at the age of 4 learning from her mother, a former belly dancer. While learning to belly dance, she also trained in ballet, jazz, modern and ballroom dancing.  As the years passed, she continued to dance and competed in various competitions, winning gold and silver. She also performed in many festivals, dance showcases and theatrical shows.

At the age of 17, she began to focus more on the art of belly dancing and wanted to share her learning’s with others. In 2005, Matilda formed the Desert Belles Belly Dance Academy where she was committed to the development of aspiring dancers in all levels, classes and ages.  In 2007, Arya TV discovered her and gave her the platform to teach dance on her own TV show that was broadcasted all over the world via satellite. Soon after, she was on Rogers TV where she would teach, inspire, perform and educate on the true art of Belly Dance.

In the last several years, Matilda Margo has evolved and continues to teach all levels of belly dance and has hosted many shows, workshops and charity galas. She and her students have raised and donated thousands of dollars to Many Hands, Doing Good, Transforming Faces, Breast Cancer, Violence Against Women Foundation, War-Amps and the Meta Foundation. Giving back to the community through the art of dance is something she values most!
